Well been staying at my Uncles shop again quite a bit so i figured why not take my camera again and start taking photos. And dear god did i take photos. Out of the 100 or so i took yesterday, i've got 12 photos (and one composite image) to submit. If anyone has noticed i only submit 3 photos a day, so that means 5 wonderfull days of submissions Its a christmas miracle!!
This series shows the people i work with in full detail, grit and grain. Other then sharpening a bit and picking between color or B&W, these shots are as unedited and raw as you can get em. No fancy sets, or models, just them working there buts off, living a Blue Collar Life.
This first one is Brandon welding on this old trailer we are currently fixing up to use. Orignally i wanted a different position, the first one i saw him welding in, but at the time my camera was still in the car. Once i got it he had moved on. Im decently happy with the look of this one though.
I like the gritty details as you call them, what better way to describe it than that? It brings me back to auto shop in high school with grit and grease under my nails and makes me want to go work on something, there is a definite appeal to the hands on work, a connection with it that is lacking with white collar computer work X-D
of course I do come from a long line of construction workers, carriage builders and skilled laborers

I used to be a little boy So old in my shoes And what I choose is my choice Whats a boy supposed to do? The killer in me is the killer in you
As do i, and i love doing computer work, but do love doing what i do for a living now as well. Seeing completed buildings on pads i helped lay is awesome

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
